Internet Safety Courses

Internet Proficiency Broadcast for Upper KS2

This course shows children how to look after their personal information when using the Internet. Using fun activities and simulations we explore websites, chat rooms, using mobile phones and e-mail, whilst thinking about how to have fun online and stay safe at the same time. The lessons are broadcast to the whole class using an interactive whiteboard or screen with speakers.

Following each broadcast a number of activities are provided online that the class teacher can use with their class during the week. The course makes use of some of the materials from the BECTa Internet Proficiency Scheme for KS2 children. The seven lessons include: using technology to communicate, SMART thinking, personal information, using email safely, chatting with care, using mobile phones safely, and evaluating websites.

The session duration is 20 minutes for 7 weeks.

The cost of this course is £450.00. (£225 within the East Riding of Yorkshire)

Net Safety

Children are prepared for an online world and are shown how to take control of their own personal information. The lessons provide lots of helpful tips, advice and information on how to stay safe as well as having fun on the Internet. They will use instant messaging, create their own websites, use e-mail and chat rooms, research their school work and keep in touch with friends on their mobile phones.

We also provide a range of follow up activities for your class, enabling them to practise their skills in a safe online environment. 6 pre-recorded lessons for use with the whole class can be accessed at times to suit the teacher.

A comprehensive teacher’s guide and follow up activities are also provided to allow practice in a safe on line environment. Access is available for the full academic year.

Get Set For The Net for Year 2

This programme has been carefully created to provide a structured, relevant and age-appropriate introduction to Internet Safety for Y2 children. With children making use of the Internet and mobile phones in their everyday lives at an ever younger age, it is vitally important that Internet awareness training is not left until it is too late. Our unique programme is made up of a series of pre-recorded online lessons, accompanied with lesson notes.

These can be used with the whole class on an interactive whiteboard at any time. By watching the broadcasts, and engaging in discussion and activities with each other, children will be shown both the benefits and the dangers of the Internet. A comprehensive teacher’s guide is provided, and teachers have access to a range of follow up resources, links and worksheets to reinforce what pupils have learnt.

Access is available until the end of the current academic year.

The cost of this course is £1 per pupil.
