The Digital Learning Community
services the needs of learners of all ages, backgrounds and locations
via a range of electronic communication media.
LearnLinc and Breeze are used to enable learners to take part in live interactive sessions, with real time verbal communication.
A VLE (virtual learning environment) is used to provide additional activities.
Instant messaging, message boards and emails will also be part of the
range of methods used to support the activities.
The services of the DLC can be received in the workplace or at home over
the World Wide Web, or via existing broadband services in many public
access points around the county, including public libraries and in local
schools.
The DLC is made up of two parts:
- The DLC - As a DLC it is hoped that we will contribute to, and complement, the full range of training provision for adult education, skills for life as well as the involvement of otherwise disenfranchised sections of the community
- The Digital School - This is principally for learners of school age
East Riding Passenger Services have delivered basic training for school
bus monitors using broadcast sessions to the secondary schools.
