Local Authority Training On-site
It will be possible for the DLC to offer employees of the Local Authority 'on their job
site' training in applications involving maths and ICT.
The DLC can also enable training to be delivered by local authority officers, managers and members that could cover many facets of
local authority work, including the training of external bodies.
The benefit to the local authority of employee training is that the employee does not have to leave their desk and simply
undertakes a 45 minute training session then returns to their work.
This means no job backlog, with the attendant risk of lost time, and a more highly-trained and effective workforce.
The benefit to the local authority, in the wider sense, is that the many and dispersed groups that require training can be serviced
by a centrally-placed local authority officer or manager, with all resources close to hand, with the added benefit of no required journey, which
can often be lengthy, to a central training venue.
